The prayer room is the center and the heartbeat of all that we do. It is where we gather to minister to Jesus day & night to move His heart, create a resting place for Him in Cleveland, and to cry out for His inheritance.
In Matthew 21:13, Jesus says that His house would be called a house of prayer for all nations. The place where He dwells is a house defined by prayer: interaction with Him and ministry to Him. In Haggai 1:8, God commands the people to get the resources to start rebuilding the temple so that He might be glorified and take pleasure in it. That is our heart with the prayer room. We want Jesus to be glorified, and we want Him to take pleasure.
Our expression is patterned after the Tabernacle of David. David’s Tabernacle was the first place of day & night musical ministry to the Lord. In Amos 9:11, the Lord promised to raise up, restore, and rebuild the Tabernacle of David. David’s heart was for a nonstop musical celebration of who the Lord is and what He has done.

Goals of the prayer room
Minister to the Lord

We minister to the Lord through our worship and prayer. This is the role of a priest. 1 Peter 2:5 states that we are a holy priesthood offering up spiritual sacrifices that are pleasing to Him. Our spiritual sacrifices are our thanks and praise.
Move His heart

We minister to the Lord because He likes it and it moves His heart. Psalm 45:8 says the music of the strings makes Him glad. Psalm 33:1 says praise from the upright is beautiful. The Old Testament refers to the burnt offering as a sweet-smelling or soothing aroma, meaning He enjoys it. We minister to Him because we want to move His heart because we love Him!
Enjoy His Presence

Psalm 16:11 says there is fullness of joy in the Lord’s presence, and the Lord promises to give us joy in His house (Isaiah 56:6-7). We want to enjoy the Lord’s presence together. He is our one desire and pursuit like David says in Psalm 27:4.
Build Him a Resting Place

David’s vow in Psalm 132:1-5 was the driving motivation of his life. His vow was to find a place, a dwelling place for the Lord. The Lord called that place His resting place in Psalm 132:13-14. This is our heart; we want to create a place for the Lord to dwell and rest in our city. We want to make a place where He feels at home, just like in heaven.
Cry out for His Inheritance

Ephesians 1 says that Jesus has a rich and glorious inheritance in the saints. Psalm 2 says the nations are Jesus’ inheritance. Jesus gets His inheritance as we ask Him to get it. We are told to pray without ceasing in 1 Thessalonians 5. Jesus promises to send justice on the earth as we cry out for it day and night in Luke 18. In Isaiah 62:6-7, He promises to set watchmen on the wall who will not be silent and will cry out day and night.
Be a part of fulfilling His promise

The Lord promised that before He returns, the earth will be filled with day & night worship and prayer. In Amos 9:11 and Acts 15:16-17, God promises to restore the Tabernacle of David, which was the first place of 24/7 musical worship and prayer. In Malachi 1:11, He promises that incense (our prayers) and pure offering (our worship) will be offered to Him day and night in every place because of the greatness of His name. Our heart is to be a part of the fulfillment of those promises.
